The 42nd Annual American Institute on Federal Taxation will be held Wednesday, June 27 through Friday, June 29, 2018 at the beautiful Embassy Suites Hotel, located at 2960 John Hawkins Parkway. This 6-hour course counts as an elective toward the Governmental Accounting Technician Certificate awarded by the Government Finance Association of Alabama. Objective: to familiarize the candidate with techniques to record money that is owed and or paid to your entity for products or services that have been rendered by you on credit to customers.

Founded in 1947, The Alabama Federal Tax Clinic has provided quality educational service to Certified Public Accountants and Tax Attorneys in the Southeast. A portion of the registration fee for this clinic goes toward funding scholarships for students in the Master's programs of Tax Accounting and Law in Taxation. Each year the program is designed by the Board of Directors of the Federal Tax Clinic Inc. The Board itself is comprised of members appointed by the Alabama State Bar, the Alabama Society of CPAs, and The University of Alabama. Using their expertise and feedback from Clinic participants, the Board has developed and maintained a quality clinic for more than 70 years!

The University of Alabama, BAMA at Work initiative, is pleased to work with Hunt Refining Inc. in the design, development and delivery of a Financial Acumen Workshop. This workshop is intended to provide an in-depth overview of financial tools utilized by modern organizations, analysis of information and data detailed in such instruments, and exercises related to business decision-making in these analysis efforts. In developing this proposal, information has been gathered through client meetings with Angela Martin and research of related to best practices in financial acumen sources.

This is a 6 hour required core course on the CGAT program. Objective is to familiarize the candidate with the process of recording financial information that groups resources into funds based on their source and any limitations on use.

This course counts as a 6-hour core course toward the Certified Governmental Accounting Technician Certificate awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of Alabama. Objective: to familiarize the candidate with the study of ledgers in which all the assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, and expenses are posted, and from which financial statements are prepared.

This course counts as a 6-hour elective toward the CGAT certificate awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of Alabama. Objective: To familiarize the candidate with detailed accounting techniques for processing employee salaries and wages, bonuses, benefits and taxes.

This course counts as a 6-hour elective toward the Government Accounting Technicians Certificate. Objective: to familiarize the candidate with accounts and techniques used to record and generate payment to specific companies or individuals for products or services that have been purchased on credit by your entity. Accounts payable are usually items that will be paid for in less than one year.
