The IP Sub-netting class is an intense 8 hour course focusing on all aspects of IP sub-netting. Students will gain a thorough understanding of how and when to subnet an IP address space as well as why. Through the use of lecture and intuitive lab exercises, students become proficient in the methods used to design an implement an IP address architecture to optimally address a network of any size. Some Key topics covered throughout this course are: *The binary and hexadecimal numbering systems *Classful vs. Classless Addressing * When to subnet? *How to properly size an IP subnet? *Variable Length Subnet Masks (VLSM) *IP Address optimization *WAN IP addressing techniques
UA Cisco Abbreviated Network Academy
The Abbreviated Network Fundamentals Class is a registered University of Alabama Cisco Network Academy Fundamentals I course. The course runs for 5 weeks in an online/virtual setting from May 27, 2013 to June 26, 2013. However, students must "attend" the one-day "IP Sub-netting" session as an online/virtual participant on Wednesday, June 12th, 2013 from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.. An optional online/virtual course review date of Wednesday, June 19th, 2013 is also planned for a two hour period of time from 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. The final exam for the course will be opened through the Cisco portal online by the faculty/instructor and must be completed Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
